2018 SECStatCat's Top 5 Least Efficient Downfield Targets
Receivers often times are at the mercy of how accurate their quarterbacks are. Ones that see more accurate balls, generally see better catch rates. Furthermore, targets that run shorter routes tend to have far better catch rates than their peers pining to punish defenses deep downfield. While not a perfect measurement of a receivers ability, depth adjusted catch percentage tries to lay out a context for how effect a player’s targets are within his offense. That being said, let’s see who were the SEC’s least efficient players to target on downfield passes.
