2018 SECStatcat's Top 5 Downfield Tight Ends
In most passing schemes, tight ends just don't see the same volume as wideouts so they can be a harder position to evaluate by the traditional metrics. Enter the depth adjusted catch percentage. The goal of this stat aims to determine efficiency like a normal catch rate but also applies more risk/reward for how far the target is downfield. That way, we get a better idea of how receivers are used and produce within their offenses. With that in mind, here were the SEC’s top 5 tight ends as downfield receivers last regular season.
